The Swiss CFA Society boasts nearly 2,000 members in Switzerland, against barely 100 in 1996 at inception. It is the largest CFA Institute society in continental Europe. With more than 1,000 candidates taking the rigorous Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) exam in Switzerland each year, the society’s impact on the Swiss investment community is self-evident.
Formerly known as the Swiss Society of Investment Professionals, the Swiss CFA Society is a non-profit organization, set up in 1996 as an association under Swiss Law and run by a board of volunteers. It was the first society of CFA charterholders outside North America to be directly affiliated with the prestigious CFA Institute, which in 2006 includes more than 86,000 members in 129 countries.
The vision of the Swiss CFA Society is to be a leader in fostering the highest level of knowledge, professionalism, and integrity in the investment business. Its mission is to represent the interests of our members and the investment community by:
- Promoting the values represented by the CFA designation
- Providing continuing professional education
- Supporting CFA candidates
- Encouraging contact and communication among members
The Swiss CFA Society works actively with other CFA Societies worldwide to meet these objectives. The CFA Institute and all CFA Societies worldwide promote the values found in the CFA Institute Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct.
